pilot controlled regulators
A pilot-controlled gas pressure regulator is equipped with a pilot regulator which supplies the actuator of the actual controller with a control pressure, thus ensuring "more precise" pressure control. In contrast to the direct-acting regulators, pilot-controlled pressure regulators can be used in all pressure ranges from low to high pressure.
In order for the pilot regulator to adjust the control pressure, the pressure difference between the regulator input and output needs to be at least 1.5 bar.
These regulators can be supplied as fail-to-close-and fail-to-open designs.
The pilot-operated pressure regulator can be used as a working controller or as a monitor controller (safety controller instead of a safety shut-off valve). It is available with or without an integrated safety shut-off valve and can be fitted with further accessories.
